The Power of Deep Work

Today, I just want to highlight the power of deep work. 

Now, we just had our implementation retreat here in Austin, Texas. It was amazing and the goal with the retreat is to take two and a half weeks or two and a half months worth of work on something and squish it into two and a half days. How much work can we get done when we can really go deep on a subject? So I just want to highlight how important it will be to hear these words and actually take action on this. Quite of a few of the people were like, "It would have taken me at least three months to finish all the things that we did here because my team was ready, everybody was raring and ready to go, we got the exact questions answered faster, we had the exact expert we need to really go and nait it." 

One of the people in the retreat ended up hiring their new person. My team ended up doing all the interviews for all the people. We'd already put the job description, we had a ton of candidates. We ended up getting on the phone. Well, I didn't. Leilani, Anita, and my amazing team ended up getting on the phone with a whole bunch of people and nailing down a really amazing candidate and making an offer within two days. So please understand that when we squeeze that speed of implementation, it makes all the difference. Another one of my clients ended up doing an entire systemization of their product. So, productization of a service in two days. She said it would have taken her at least two months in between this, that and the other thing instead of going super, super deep. So, she's like, "Every quarter, I want to be doing this!" 

Going that deep in the work makes that speed of implementation cycle that I talk about often get shortened. And when that happens, you get so much more movement and so much more momentum with that project that you're working on. So I highly recommend, take some batch days, even if it's only two days, where you plan on getting something done and you stay up as late as you possibly can to make sure that that happens. And make sure you tell someone in advance so that way you can't get out of it. I just want to highlight that for you today. If you can do that, it will revolutionize your business.
