The Four Questions

It's not personal, it's business. 

You've heard that before right? Now, the funny thing is and I'm pretty sure anybody listening to this right now kind of know this, but most things that are business are also personal with the business owner themselves. So I've been coaching over 5,000 hours, one-on-one with entrepreneurs. And especially at the beginning, I would be like, "Oh, limiting beliefs! What is that?" 

Internally and personally, how far you've come makes a huge difference for how far you can go in business. And the quick tip today is actually something by Byron Katie. It's called the four questions. She calls it "The Work", right? It's not spiritual woo-woo craziness, just so you know, so stick with me for just a second. I use this with a lot of my clients and they have profound breakthroughs in business, okay? 

So the four questions go like this: When you have an issue that comes up, you ask the question, is it true? Is that belief that you're thinking, is it actually true? Question number two, and I love this one, is can you absolutely know that it's true? Because sometimes you're like, "Yeah, yeah, that's true, that's totally true, totally true." Right? Can you absolutely know that's true? He thinks like this, "Yeah that's true. No, wait, maybe not." Right? Number three is how do you react? What happens when you believe that thought? Then you go ahead and answer it. And number four, the final question and this is usually where the turn around comes from, is who would you be without that thought? 

Now, I know it sounds kind of crazy, but literally, after every time I bring these four questions to a client, it's like drop the mic. I just did it the other day with five entrepreneurs in a mastermind group and the last question was answered, who would you be without that thought? "Myself." And there were almost tears. Being able to make that profound awareness is personal, super personal and it changes everything in business. Because what you believe is what you're willing to take action on. And that is what separates the entrepreneurs that are really going past what their limiting beliefs are and the ones that aren't.
