LOVED this interview, Jaime! In a day and age where meetings are scoffed at, I continue to encourage them in SOME form. That might be a routine weekly SUP paddle workout like I do with my buddy Barrett, that walk to work that Verne mentions, that weekly lunch, etc. I used to have a weekly “good news” conference call that was mandatory for my management team on Friday afternoons at 4:30. They each had to bring 2 items of GOOD NEWS that happened during the week, so we could start our weekends acknowledging progress. Great interview here.
Thanks Rick!! LOVED hearing this 🙂
Warmest,
-Jaime
Hey Jaime,
I haven’t listened to all of your podcasts, but of the ones I have listened to this one is by far my favorite. Verne is a very sharp guy with much to teach and he has a great way about him.
I know you hear it all the time, so I’ll affirm it once again. You do a brilliant job with your interviews. I like them even better than EOF, actually a lot better.
P.S. Your transcript link isn’t working

On Passions: I think questioning our passions are great. I’ve tried walking away from different business ideas.
For me, it has been the ultimate litmus test, and I’ve learned that the work I love will always call me back.
Incredibly powerful stuff – Can’t believe you got to spend so much time with Verne. Main takeaway (I’m not great with remembering quotes!) is that the main things to focus on are: people, strategy, execution and cash. Get those right and you’re golden!
