LinkedIn Experts Are Doing This On LinkedIn To Get More Leads

Jaime: Hey, it's Jaime here and I'm here with my very good friend Dennis Brown. You can check him out at AskDennisBrown.com and he is a LinkedIn expert guru that I should have listened to a long time ago because I just asked him a million questions and I wanted to share this really quick.

I think on LinkedIn we're getting spammed over and over and over by a bazillion in messages, and I feel like Dennis has a better way. So, please tell us the better way that we should be doing this. 

Dennis: First of all, I told you so. I told you, I told you, I told you. Been beating you over the head for a few years but you finally listened and I'm excited. Anyway, yeah. Rather than beating people over the head with your pitch and spamming their inbox, what has happened, LinkedIn has changed a lot. Particularly in the last year and a half and content has finally become a major draw and a way to generate inbound leads and to start conversations with your target market. 

About a year and a half ago, I was that guy who was not creating content on LinkedIn, I was only consuming. I wasn't creating, I was only consuming. It's hard to get leads when you consume. It's hard to develop relationships when you consume, but when you create, you would be surprised. 

I started doing one LinkedIn post per day. That was it. One LinkedIn update per day. Sometimes, it was a video.  Sometimes, it was a microblog, where it was just a text-based post. Sometimes, it was just an image. Any number of things, right? There's a bunch of different formats. 

I started doing that. I was getting one or two likes, and maybe 100 views on my content and in just a few months that went to generating literally over hundreds of engagements per post and over 10,000 views per post. That's absolutely free. 100% organic. 

If you are the person who is on LinkedIn and I know who you are. You're consuming and you're not creating, you're missing the boat. 2019 is going to be a huge year, so if you like video, or you like little microblogs, or sharing images, start doing it on LinkedIn because I know you're doing it on Facebook and you're not getting anywhere near the reach. 

Jaime: Not in a million years, and I'm jealous of you, and now I'm doing what you say. Now, I'm doing the posts and I'm getting way more engagement. Everybody, that's on LinkedIn right now, stop it! I mean watch our videos but besides that, go create.
