Is Your Vision Misaligned

Is your vision misaligned and how do you know? 

Well, just the other day, I was facilitating a mastermind retreat. So a group of my previous mastermind members that were a part of my group, they get to keep their group forever. Been going on for almost three years, they meet online weekly and in-person every single quarter, it's amazing. What ended up happening was when I went there, they already did their three-year vivid vision. Now if you haven't read that book "Vivid Vision" by Cameron Herold, I highly recommend you check it out. What's interesting though is as I gave each session to each of the five members, one of them, didn't seem congruent. 

So I started asking questions about, "Well, what do you want when you're 80?" One of the things that he said was he really cared about his legacy and the body of work that he created. And yet, the three-year vision that he had mapped out, very beautifully, was not even close to doing anything with that body of work. So I kept asking deeper and deeper questions. And what was very apparent, in the short term when I started asking questions, was it was very misaligned. 

Now I was trying to be a little soft about it, but in the end, I ended up ripping up the three-year vivid vision in front of him after he agreed that it was not what he really wanted long term. In fact, he even admitted to playing video games instead of actually doing work, because he felt so uninspired by that vision. That's not good! Please notice that if you're feeling misaligned, you will feel it. It won't feel exciting, it won?t feel like you want to jump out of bed and work on it. And if that's the case, don't do it. We have three years of your life, that you're planning on planning out. And imagine hating all three years, that is not why you got into the business. 

So what we started to do is recalibrate, so that way, his actual vivid vision lined up with what he's looking to have to create a legacy on. He was so much more inspired because of that, he sent me a text the next morning, and said, "This is exactly what I needed." So today, if you are misaligned, you'll feel it. So check in with yourself and find out if you are. Take care.
