How To Enjoy Your Work More

Make work fun again. So I know things have been kind of crazy in 2020, so far anyway, and hopefully, it'll get way better way faster. But what I'm realizing is all those little things that I used to do to make work fun, I don't really do anymore, and I'm trying to find new ways to be able to do that too. 

So beforehand, I would potentially, if I had a project to work on, I would make sure that I would go out, away from my house which I know is difficult nowadays, maybe go to a restaurant, get an appetizer, and give myself a time limit to get a project done, like, "okay, I'm not going to get up from this chair until this is done." And that was a fun little challenge for my ADHD brain. 

Now when I'm home, I'm like, "I don't get out very much," number one, but I realized that I'm not putting those fun little extra pieces where I challenge myself and have fun at the same time in place anymore. So what I've been trying to do and I want to challenge you to be doing the same thing or maybe you can give me some ideas, is to try and find things that make work more fun. So I've been sitting out by the pool and timing it, but the funny thing is, is my laptop will overheat because I'm here in Texas, so I only have a certain amount of time. So that's my challenge, "How much work can I get done before my laptop overheats?" 

You know, now and interesting COVID-type challenges that we have. But I really want to challenge you to start thinking of how we can infuse more fun into this because the weight of the world is a little bit more on our shoulders, even if your business is doing well. I know a lot of my clients have businesses that are doing really, really well, but the loneliness because we're not seeing people, especially if you're an extrovert or even an introvert. I know some of my friends that are introverts are hitting their limits of introvertedness also. What can we do to have a little bit more fun? 

So what I'm going to try and do also is maybe have a date, where me and a friend, a work friend, ends up getting work done all at the same time. So we set an hour and we just work together, whether it be Skype or Zoom and we get a bunch done. I'm actually going to be chatting with my assistant shortly. As soon as she can come over, I'm going to have her sitting by the pool so we can have some fun, maybe even get a massage in between so that way we can make sure that we really enjoy the work, because what's the point, right? We're doing a lot of work as business owners, and it's way better if we can enjoy it.
