How My Client Got On CBS And USA Today

The quick tip for today is how one of my clients actually got on CBS, an LA radio show, plus in Travel and Leisure, and USA Today from one thing. 

What was that one thing?

Well, I make most of my clients use it because this is really important and easy, but it takes a system, typically, to actually do. It's called Help a Reporter Out. You've probably actually heard about it before. It's called HARO and what we do for the clients is we actually have them set up with their team to watch those HARO emails. 

So, if you go to HelpAReporterOut.com. you'll get a daily email, quite often, usually more than one in a day. And normally, owners are so busy. We don't really think about it and it just sort of gets lost in the way. 

But what I highly recommend is training someone that's your right hand to receive those emails, do a very quick scan, and see if there's something very quick, ideally, that you already have prepped for from maybe their articles or their information that you send out, because that time window of how soon somebody gets the inquiry and their response back from you, because when on the other side usually get bombarded with a ton, so you looked at that first few because you are excited and then you don't so much anymore. Usually, one of those first few get picked. 

So, if you have your team do it so you don't have to, that's how you can land on things like CBS and USA Today easily without knowing any journalists at all. And the great thing about that is that now you have relationships with those journalists that you can nurture and get even more. That's the quick tip for today.
